A mold inspection will involve an thorough visual inspection of obvious mold locations. It may involve progressively more intrusive inspection if moisture sources are found.
Bottom line: It is important to check references. They should answer questions and show you how the equipment works. A mold inspector certification may not be a good way of determining if the person is qualified.
We really have to be careful at all times if someone is going to be at your house. Mold inspection includes lots of upturning things at home so you really should be careful.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. It is good to be clear with the investigator about what can be disturbed. For example it is often necessary to pull the carpet off the tack strip to check for mold growth or past signs of water damage. As the carpet maybe slightly damaged it is important to have permission from the owner prior doing this.
